ABILENE, Texas -- Hardin-Simmons' women's tennis team swept a pair of matches on Saturday with a 9-0 win over Concordia and 8-1 over Howard Payne on Saturday afternoon in non-conference action at the Streich Tennis Center.
Against Concordia the Cowgirls rolled through the doubles matches, losing only five games over three matches. In singles action, the Cowgirls won every match in straight sets including a dominating 6-0, 6-0 win by
Shayne Cook.
HSU won all three doubles to take control of the match. The Cowgirls rested some of their top players.
Hannah Smith moved all the way up to No. 1 singles and dropped a three-setter.
Kyra Mobley,
Lexie Graham,
Megan Carlson, Abigaial Kendall and
Kelsey Doege all had wins for the Cowgirls in singles.
The Cowgirls are now 4-2 on the year and Howard Payne fell to 0-4 and Concordia is 1-3. HSU hosts Schreiner and LeTourneau next Saturday.
