ABILENE, Texas -- Hardin-Simmons' women's tennis team opened American Southwest Conference West Division play with an 8-1 win over Concordia on Saturday afternoon at the Streich Tennis Center.
Concordia won its only point with a 9-8 win at No. 1 doubles. HSU rolled at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles.
In singles play, HSU won all six matches in straight sets.

HSU is now 9-5 on the year and 1-0 in ASC action. Concordia fell to 3-9 overall and 0-1 in conference play. HSU will host Howard Payne on Friday in its next action.
