ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' women's tennis team could not get over the hump in a 6-3 loss to Connecticut College on Monday at the Streich Tennis Center.
The Cowgirls picked up a win at No. 3 doubles from Kelsey Doege and Elizabeth Lopez to trail 2-1 heading to singles action.
HSU received a pair of wins from freshmen Emily Shaffer and Jordan Shepley at No. 5 and 6 singles, respectively. Both won in a third-set pro set. Shaffer won 6-2, 3-6, 10-7 and Shepley won 0-6, 6-2, 12-10.
HSU is 2-8 on the year and will return to action on March 29 at Schreiner. CC improved to 6-2 on the year.
