Box Score ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' women's soccer team won 6-0 over the LeTourneau Yellowjackets in American Southwest Conference play on Friday night at the HSU Soccer Complex.
Aurora Arevalo fed a pass to Madelyn Dowell who scored in the 17th minute to take the lead for the Cowgirls. A run from Michaela Sabrsula was dropped off to Caroline Pool, who then assisted Emma Thompson for the finish in the 22nd minute to make it 2-0 Cowgirls.
Thompson added another goal in the 52nd minute in tight across the box after another assist from a flanking Sabrsula to get the 3-0 lead. Madelyn Dowell hit a corner that Arevalo managed to get a piece of to score in the 54th minute.
Gabby Aviles had a shot saved in close that Randie Dennison finished on the rebound in the 87th minute and Sklyer Devore scored in the 89th after Irene Ramirez placed a free kick to Odessa Leal who got it to Devore to score, making it a 6-0 Cowgirl soccer win.
The Cowgirls had a ridiculous 40 shots with 24 on the frame in the contest and eight total assists. LeTourneau had three shots with one on goal. HSU led with 15 corners to none for LETU.
Haley Foley had a save in 57 minutes in goal and had the win while Kendall Dowling finished up for the Cowgirls.
The LeTourneau keeper Kiersten Reeser had an incredible 16 saves in the game. Kelsy Traylor finished in goal for the Yellowjackets.
The Cowgirls are now 5-2 and 2-0 in the ASC on the yearand will play the ETBU Tigers at the HSU Soccer Complex at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
