Box Score RICHARDSON, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' women's soccer team won 2-1 over the Texas-Dallas Comets on Thursday night in American Southwest Conference action.
Hayden Abor got the Cowgirl lead in the fifth minute with a goal assisted by Emma Thompson. The Comets would tie the game in the 21st minute off the foot of Sofia Munoz to make it 1-1 at the half.
Caroline Pool scored the game-winning goal for the Cowgirls in the 64th minute, sealing the 2-1 victory over a very good Comet team in ASC play.
The Cowgirls took 12 shots with nine on the frame while UTD had nine shots and three on goal. The Cowgirls led with six corner kicks to two.
Haley Foley started in goal and got the win with two saves in the full 90 minutes. The Comet keeper Mariana Gonzalez had four saves in the loss.
The Cowgirls move to 7-2 and remain unbeaten at 4-0 in the conference. The Comets are now 8-4 and 2-3 in ASC play. The Cowgirls will play at Ozarks with an early noon start on Saturday to wrap up the road trip.
