Box Score ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' women's soccer team beat crosstown rival McMurry 4-0 on Friday evening at the HSU Soccer Complex to advance to the American Southwest Conference Championship.
The Cowgirls wasted no time getting on the board as Michael Sabrsula scored off a double assist from Mercy Mummert and Gabby Aviles 2:22 into the game.
HSU added a pair of goals right before halftime as Rachel Bean scored off a Mercy Mummert corner kick and then less than a minute later Skyler Devore sent a long ball in that found the back of the next to make it 3-0.
Caroline Pool scored her fifth goal of the season in the 61st minute to give the Cowgirls a 4-0 lead.
HSU outshot McMurry 16-13 and 8-7 on goal. Kendall Dowling had seven saves for the Cowgirls in the contest.
HSU is now 14-3 on the year and McMurry concluded its season with a record of 11-5-3.
The Cowgirls will be looking for a 19th straight ASC title in the championship game against Mary Hardin-Baylor on Sunday at 1 p.m.
