Box Score SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' women's soccer team went down 4-1 to the Trinity University Tigers on Sunday night playing in San Antonio.
The Cowgirls had an early miscommunication own goal that gave Trinity the lead. The Tigers earned a penalty kick that Cece Hendricks scored to make it 2-0 Trinity in the 11th minute.
The Cowgirls had Randie Dennison turn the corner and feed Hayden Abor for a goal in the 17th minute to make it 2-1. Trinity netted two more in the second half, from Camryn Beall and Madison Horner, to get the victory 4-1.
HSU had six shots and four on frame while Trinity led with 23 shots and nine on goal. Trinity led with three corners to none for the Cowgirls.
Haley Foley had five saves in 68 minutes in goal for the Cowgirls. Kendall Dowling finished at keeper for HSU with one save in 22 minutes. Joanna Finley had three saves for Trinity in the win.
The Cowgirls (1-1) will travel to Southwestern next Saturday night to play starting at 7:30 p.m.
