ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' men's basketball team fell to the Texas-Dallas Comets on Saturday at the Mabee Athletic Complex 83-75 in the opening game of American Southwest Conference play.

The Cowboys shot 24-62 for 38 percent from the field and 7-24 at 29 percent from behind the arc. UT Dallas shot 33-61 for 55 percent on the night and were 9-22 from three for 41 percent from deep.

Steven Quinn led the Cowboys with 24 points shooting 8-22 on the night. He also led the Cowboys with five assists.

Austin Brewer had 15 points for HSU and led with eight rebounds. Callaway Dykes had ten points for the Cowboys.

Hardin-Simmons moves to 1-2 on the season and will travel to play at Southwestern next Friday night at 4 p.m.
