ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' women's tennis team split Saturday, dropping a match to the Colorado College Tigers 6-3 in the morning and sweeping ASC foe Mary Hardin-Baylor 9-0 later in the day at the Streich Tennis Center.
Landry Laywell won No. 4 singles for the Cowgirls against the Tiger 6-4, 6-2 over Jensen.
Jonnah Smith went 6-0, 6-4 to take the five singles match playing Hodor and Skylar Rust won six singles 6-1, 6-3 defeating Rivera of Colorado College.
Laurel Coleman and Lauren Schaeffer won No. 1 doubles 8-1 against UMHB. Priscilla Schimming and Smith teamed up for a No. 2 doubles win 8-5 and Rust and Taja Lawrence won 8-0 at three doubles over the Cru.
Coleman won No. 1 singles 7-5, 6-2 for the Cowgirls against UMHB. Schimming went the distance with a 7-5, 3-6, (10-6) win at No. 2 singles.
Laywell got another win at three singles 6-1, 6-2 for the Cowgirls. Smith played at No. 4 singles for a 6-3, 6-1 victory.
Rust went up 6-1, 6-2 in five singles and Lawrence finished off the day with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep of No. 6 singles.
The Cowgirls improve to 11-7 and a perfect 5-0 in ASC play to wrap up the regular season. The ASC Championship tournament will begin for the Cowgirls on April 28 next weekend at Texas-Dallas in Richardson.
