Box Score LONGVIEW, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' men's basketball team won 90-86 in an American Southwest Conference road match at LeTourneau with a big second half surge on offense.
The Cowboys bounced back for the team's 11th win of the year to move to 6-4 in the ASC after defeating LeTourneau on Saturday afternoon. The Cowboys trailed 39-31 at the half before scoring 59 in the second half to win the game by four.
The Cowboys trailed the Yellowjackets until senior Steven Quinn hit a pair of free throws to take a 62-61 lead with ten minutes to go in the game. Hardin-Simmons shot 24-40 for 60% in the second half to secure the ASC road win.
Quinn led the Cowboys with 22 points and Austin Brewer had a big day with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Will Bartoszek led Hardin-Simmons with 15 rebounds and also scored 18 in the win. Jared Bomer and Jason Justice each had ten for the Cowboys on the day.
The Cowboys improve to 11-6 and 6-4 in the American Southwest Conference after the win at LeTourneau. HSU will travel to Sul Ross on Thursday before returning home to host Howard Payne Saturday.
