ARLINGTON, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' women's tennis team went down at Division II Dallas Baptist 7-0 on Friday to start the road trip.

The Patriots of DBU had four regionally ranked players, with their ace ranked No. 14 nationally in Division II tennis.

The Cowgirls went down in singles and played tight in a couple of doubles matches. Laurel Coleman and Jonnah Smith scored 6-4 in the defeat at No. 2 doubles and Brianne Dumas and Taja Lawrence dropped 6-4 in No. 3 for the Cowgirls.

Hardin-Simmons moves to 2-3 after playing up a division at DBU and will continue to put the best teams in the region on the schedule with a match against the defending ASC champion Texas-Dallas team on Saturday at 12 noon.
