Box Score CLARKSVILLE, Ark. – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl softball team completed the sweep of Ozarks 10-1 in five innings on Sunday morning to start 3-0 in American Southwest Conference play.
Madison Mayhew and Sarah Diessner brought the big bats to work on Sunday, each with a pair of hits. Diessner had three RBIs and Mayhew went deep for a homerun and hit a triple to tally five RBIs for HSU.
Lindsey Ratcliffe also went two of three in the batter's box for the Cowgirls. Aubrianna Salazar pitched a one-hitter through four innings and had five strikeouts in the win. Kylie Ruiz came in to wrap up the Cowgirl win with a strikeout in the final fifth inning.
Haley Henson hit a sac fly for an RBI and Ella Salinas added an RBI as the Cowgirls brought it to a close 10-1 over the Eagles of Ozarks.
The Cowgirls are now 12-1 and 3-0 in ASC play and will go on the road to play against St. John Fisher hosted by ETBU in Marshall for two games next Wednesday beginning at 12 noon before returning home to host Sul Ross State for an ASC series starting on Friday at 3 p.m.
