ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl tennis team took down the Concordia Tornados 6-3 on Saturday in American Southwest Conference play to move to 2-0 in conference for Cowgirl senior day.
The Cowgirls recognized five seniors before the match, Lauren Schaeffer, Taja Lawrence, Priscilla Schimming, Brianne Dumas, and Jacy Smith.
Jacy Smith and Laurel Coleman defeated the Tornados in the first doubles match 8-1. Skylar Rust and Schimming teamed up for a win in the third doubles match 8-6 for Hardin-Simmons.
Jacy Smith took the ace singles match by a final of 6-2, 6-2 and Rust won at No. 4 singles 6-1, 6-1.
Schimming finished off the No. 5 singles match 6-2, 6-4 and Jonnah Smith won for the Cowgirls in the No. 6 singles game 6-2, 6-4.
The Cowgirls improve to 7-5 and 2-0 in ASC play and will play at Mary Hardin-Baylor on Friday at 12 noon in Belton.
