Box Score 2 BELTON, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl softball team dropped a double header to the Mary Hardin-Baylor Cru on Wednesday by scores of 2-1 and 3-0 in American Southwest Conference play.
Hardin-Simmons couldn't make use of a pair of good outings from the pitching staff in the low scoring games in Belton. Haven Williams threw six innings of six hits and just two runs in the 2-1 loss.
Kylie Ruiz started game two with three runs on three hits allowed with Kaylen Washington and Aubrianna Salazar relieving and only allowing three base runners in the final three innings.
The Cowgirls were held to five hits and four hits in the two games against the Cru. Ashley Easley had two in game one and a hit in the second game where Madison Mayhew had two hits with a double. Kristen McMillan had the lone Cowgirl RBI on the night driving in Easley.
The Cowgirls drop to 22-5 and 11-3 in conference and share a conference record with UMHB of 11-3 after tonight with a chance to take the ASC lead back from the Cru tomorrow with an updated time, starting at 10 a.m. in Belton.
