BELTON, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl softball team ended the year at the ASC Championship Tournament, falling to LeTourneau in the elimination round 6-5 on Friday morning playing at UMHB.

The Cowgirls got out of a jam in the first with only one given up to LeTourneau and took the lead 3-1 in the third. Ella Salinas and Madison Mayhew drove in runs for Hardin-Simmons in the third.

The Yellowjackets scratched another run to make it 3-2 before Ashley Easley tripled to drive in another and put the Cowgirls up 4-2. Haley Henson followed with a double to make it 5-2 in the fourth. Henson led the Cowgirls with three hits in the game.

LeTourneau had the final say and tied the game in the sixth and would drive in the winning run in the final inning as the home team took the ASC elimination game 6-5. The Cowgirls wrap up another season in the ASC Softball Championship Tournament.

Salinas led with two RBIs and Henson, Mayhew, and Easley knocked in the other Cowgirl runs. Kaylen Washington started the game and Haven Williams finished for the Cowgirls against LeTourneau.

Hardin-Simmons finishes the season at 26-15 in another year at the ASC Championship Tournament. We'd like to thank our seniors who will be leaving us, Kaylen Washington, Audrey Solomon, Brittanie Henry, and Sarah Diessner for all they have been a part of for Cowgirl softball.
