ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl tennis team continued hosting the ITA Southwest Regional at the Streich Tennis Center and all over Abilene on Friday.
Laurel Coleman played in the second round of the A bracket and lost 6-4, 6-3 to Erin Kittredge (UMHB).
Three Cowgirls played in the A consolation bracket Friday.
Jonnah Smith lost 6-4, 2-6, 10-8 to Jenna Vincent (MCM).
Brenna Gordon won 7-5, 6-1 over Trinity Klamecki (CTX) and later won 2-6, 6-4, 10-4 against Grace Rogers (LETU) to continue in the A consolation.
Taja Lawrence won 6-1, 6-1 against Karissa Guzman (UST) and then fell 3-6, 7-5, 10-5 to Hannah Reyna (Schreiner).
Addyson Tylaska played in the second round of the B main bracket after winning Thursday. She fell 6-2, 6-3 to Kristyn Dunn (ETBU) to move to consolation.
Triniti McBride and
Lanae Blankenship continued in B consolation. McBride winning twice, 6-3, 6-0 over Clara Brisman (LETU) and 7-6(3), 6-0 over Dianney Ortiz (MCM). Blankenship won 6-2, 7-5 against Karsyn Clouse (AC) before falling 6-2, 6-0 to Lizzy Moreau (LETU).
Two Cowgirl pairs played in A doubles. Smith and Gordon won doubles against Burns and Lane (UMHB) 8-6. The duo of Lawrence and Coleman won 8-7(4) over Male and Kittredge (UMHB) for the Cowgirls.
The Cowgirls continue the ITA Southwest Regional at the Streich Tennis Center on Saturday.
