ABILENE, Texas -- Hardin-Simmons' men's tennis team opened the season with a 6-3 win over East Texas Baptist on Saturday morning at a chilly Streich Tennis Center.
The Cowboys won all three doubles to take an early advantage.
Alex Hunt and
Andrew Eurek won 9-7 over Connor Mason and Rollin Houk at No. 1 doubles.
Chandler Livingston and
Griffin Weinkam won 8-3 at No.2.
Keenan Nash and
Jordan Davis won 8-1 at No. 3.
In singles play Hunt rolled over Mason 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 singles and Weinkam won 6-3, 6-1 at No. 2.
B.J. Farmakis started his season off with a 7-5, 6-0 win at No. 3 singles.
ETBU won the final three singles matches but the Cowboys had secured the match.
HSU will host Trinity next Saturday at 3 p.m.
