ABILENE, Texas -- Hardin-Simmons' men's tennis team beat Concordia and Howard Payne by identical 8-1 scores in non-conference action at the Streich Tennis Center on Saturday.
The Cowboys won two of the three doubles against Concordia to take the early advantage.
In singles play, four of the six matches went to a third set but the Cowboys pulled out all six singles matches.

Keenan Nash all picked up wins.
In the afternoon match, HPU won 9-8 at No. 1 doubles but the Cowboys dominated every other match. The other two doubles matches were 8-2 Cowboy wins and in singles play all six Cowboys won in straight sets with no one losing more than five games.
The Cowboys were able to get several guys into the varsity lineup for the first time.

HSU is 4-2 on the year and Concordia fell to 1-3 on the early season. Howard Payne is now 0-1 on the year.
