TYLER, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' men's tennis team advanced to the American Southwest Conference semifinals with a 5-1 win over East Texas Baptist on Thursday at UT-Tyler.
The Cowboys took control of the match with a sweep of doubles.
Andrew Eurek and
Alex Hunt rolled 8-0 at No. 1 and
Jordan Davis and
Chandler Livingston teamed for a 9-7 win at No. 2 doubles.
B.J. Farmakis and
Michael Boyd completed the sweep with an 8-6 win at No. 3 doubles.
It didn't take the Cowboys long to put the match away needing just two singles victories to clinch the match. Hunt rolled 6-2, 6-0 at No. 1 singles over Connor Mason and
Griffin Weinkam won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3 singles.
The Cowboys improved to 10-11 on the year and ETBU closed its season with a record of 7-11-1. HSU will take on UT-Dallas in the semifinals on Friday at 10:30 a.m.
