ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' men's tennis team beat regionally-ranked Austin College, 5-4, on a chilly day at the Streich Tennis Center.

B.J. Farmakis sealed the dual win for the Cowboys as he rallied from a set down to beat Safe Rahman 5-7, 6-3, 6-2 at No. 6 singles to end the 4:30 match that was played with a wind chill in the 20's.

Alex Hunt and Griffin Weinkam picked up the Cowboys' win in doubles play with an 8-6 win at No. 1. The Cowboys needed four singles wins to earn the victory.

Hunt won easily at No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-2. Levi Cook won 7-5, 6-1 at No. 3 singles and Holt Fields won 6-4, 7-6 (7-5) at No. 4 singles. Josh Granberry won a tough three-setter over Weinkam at No. 2 singles and Andres Padilla beat Colin Hollingsworth 7-5, 7-5 to tie the match for the Kangaroos and set up the dramatic finish for Farmakis.  

The Cowboys are now 1-2 on the year and will play at Abilene Christian on Friday. Austin College is now 2-1 on the year.
