ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' men's tennis team remained undefeated in American Southwest Conference West Division play with a 6-3 win over Concordia on Friday afternoon at the Streich Tennis Center.
The Cowboys took a 2-1 after double play. Alex Hunt and Chandler Livingston served up an 8-0 win at No. 2 doubles and Griffin Weinkam and Ben Gutierrez won 8-1 at No. 3 doubles.
HSU had a strong showing in singles as well. Hunt rolled 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1 and Holt Field won 6-2, 6-2 at No. 3 singles. Jordan Davis won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 5 singles and Kwade Boyd dominated his match 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6 singles.
The Cowboys improved to 5-11 overall and to 4-0 in ASC West play. Concordia, who is ranked No. 18 in the region, fell to 8-7 overall and 2-3 in league action.
HSU will play Mary Hardin-Baylor at 11 a.m. on Saturday and will honor its three seniors Livingston, Gutierrez and B.J. Farmakis on senior day.
