SHERMAN, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' men's tennis team defeated East Texas Baptist, 6-3, on Friday evening in Sherman. 

HSU won two of three doubles to take an early advantage. Alex Hunt and Nathaniel Schoendorf won 8-4 at No. 1 singles and Griffin Weinkam and Holt Fields won 9-7 at No. 2 doubles.

Hunt won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 1 singles and Schoendorf won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2 singles. Weinkam won in three sets at No. 3 singles and Joshua Lopez picked up a three-set win at No. 6 singles.

The Cowboys are 2-3 on the year and will play at Austin College at 2 p.m. on Saturday. ETBU fell to 3-3 on the year.
