GEORGETOWN, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' men's tennis team dropped an ASC match 5-4 against the Concordia Tornados on Thursday morning hosted at Southwestern.
The Cowboys started strong with two wins in the doubles opening. Nathaniel Schoendorf and James Moore defeated Arredondo and Padilla 8-3 in the No. 2 doubles match while Josh Lopez and Davyn Williford went up 8-5 against De La Pena and Bregman in three doubles.
Alex Pavkovich got another Cowboy win in three 6-0, 6-7(5-7), 4-1 playing Bode at the No. 1 singles spot.
Schoendorf went down in three 6-4, 5-7, 4-6 against Munguia at No. 2, and Moore came back to win 5-7, 6-4, 6-4 in No. 3 singles. Desmond O'Shea had another tough loss for the Cowboys 3-6, 7-6, 3-6 at No. 4.
The Cowboys went down 5-4 on the day to Concordia in the battle for the ASC West division. The Cowboys move to 9-7 and 3-1 in the ASC with matches on Saturday at home against Colorado College at 8 a.m. and UMHB at 1 p.m. in Abilene.
