ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowboy tennis team topped ASC foe Concordia 5-4 on Saturday in American Southwest Conference play to take command of the conference on senior day. The Tornados are currently ranked No. 12 in the region.
The Cowboy team honored six seniors at the Streich Tennis Center Saturday morning, Desmond O'Shea, James Moore, Davyn Williford, Brice Bradshaw, Nathaniel Schoendorf, and Jacob Harris.
Bradshaw and Schoendorf took the first doubles match from the Tornados in a close one 8-7 (7-5).
Schoendorf won at No. 2 singles in a come-from-behind win 6-7 (6-8), 6-3, 6-3. Moore went 6-2, 6-3 to take the third singles match for HSU.
O'Shea won 6-4, 7-6 (7-5) for Hardin-Simmons at No. 5 singles and Justus Petersilie went for the dub in singles No. 6 with a score of 6-3, 6-2.
Hardin-Simmons improves to 8-6 and 2-0 in ASC play and Travel to take on the UMHB Cru in another ASC match on Friday at 12 noon in Belton.
