This team became the first of the Division III era to win a national championship. The dominating Cowgirls went 24-0-1, trailed for just 6:04 on the year and outscored opponents 113-6. On the way to the national title HSU defeated ranked teams No. 1 Messiah, No. 3 Otterbein, No. 6 Trinity, No. 7 Emory and No. 20 Redlands. The national title game was a 2-1 win over powerhouse Messiah. HSU had 7 seniors – Erin Low, Allison Ray, Becca Gault, Kelsey Byars, and All-Americans Amy Kuykendall, Carlyn Powers, and Sarah Stansell. Katie Kuykendall, Rebecca Roth and Brittany Vacca claimed All-American honors in 2010. Meg Ryan was All-Region. The Cowgirls pushed their American Southwest Conference win streak to 145 games, had a 3.53 team GPA and won its eighth straight ASC title in 2010.
