Rudolph Hamilton Mobley also known as “Little Doc”, aka Rudy, was an American football halfback for Hardin-Simmons University. A two-time national rushing leader, in 1942 “Little Doc” led the NCAA major colleges in rushing yardage with 1,281 yards in nine games.  In 1946, after returning from WWII, “Little Doc” led the way to win the national rushing title for a second time, with 1,262 rushing yards. Doc Mobley, as the leading ground-gainer, combined with Hardin-Simmons head coach, Warren B. Woodson to help lead Hardin Simmons to a perfect 11-0 record in 1946. He was twice named first-team all Border Conference in 1942 and 1946, and wqas named to the Associated Press Little All-America teams in 1942 and 1946. Mobley was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the National Football League in the 1945 draft and played one season for the Baltimore Colts.
