In both 1995 and 1996, Todd Baumann was captain and quarterback for the Cowboys, NAIA Division II All-American, American Southwest Conference Offensive Most Valuable Player, and Academic All-American. In 1996, he brought national recognition to the school as a Burger King Scholar Athlete. Baumann led the Cowboys to two conference championships along with consecutive visits to the NAIA Playoffs. He was recognized as a National Player of the Week and selected five times as Conference Player of the Week. Baumann finished his career fourth all-time in passing with over 5,000 yards and is fifth all time in total offense (198.2 yards per game). After graduation, Baumann played professionally in Europe before beginning dental school.
