Playing for the Cowboys in the Trans America Athletic Conference and Division One, Lynn Turner set many school records. The outfielder from Roswell, New Mexico, played on three consecutive TAAC West Division Championship teams. He was on the 1986 team that set school records for runs and hits in a season, season wins (38), and winning percentage (.681). In 1987 Turner hit .408 with 13 home runs and 77 RBI, only the fourth player in the Division One era to hit over .400. Turner holds Division One career records at HSU for hits (199), runs scored (170), games played (224), RBI (277), home runs (39) and at bats (670). He holds the following single season Division One records at HSU: doubles (20) and runs batted in (77); which tied for third in the nation in RBI per game. Turner was named TAAC All-Conference in 1986, 1987 and 1988.
